POSITION SUMMARY: The Design and Construction Coordinator position is a non-exempt position that provides administrative and organizational support to MIMCO’s construction team, assisting with day-to-day functions and operations of the Construction Department in all aspects of the building and renovation of commercial retail properties.
REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President, Construction

Provide administrative support to the SVP of Construction and Construction Department on a day-to-day basis;
Assist SVP of Construction in maintaining relations with vendors, utility companies and government entities including engaging in regular communication and following up on document requests, service requests, permit applications, utility setup and any other required correspondence and communication necessary for the successful completion of MIMCO construction projects;
Prepare vendor contracts, correspondence and related documents for review by the SVP of Construction;
Setup all construction projects and contracts in MIMCO systems timely and accurately;
Prepare and maintain appropriate files and documentation of all construction projects for use by Construction Department and those departments that take over after completion such as Maintenance and Property Management Departments in accordance with company policy and procedure;
Use computer software tools and products provided by the company (i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Yardi Voyager) to setup construction projects, manage budgets and payables, and ensure the seamless flow of information between MIMCO departments;
Perform basic accounting functions;
Provide administrative support to other departments of MIMCO including, but not limited to, managing the phones at the front desk, and supporting the Leasing, Maintenance, Property Management and Accounting Departments, on an as needed basis;
Abide by all company policies and procedures;
MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines and job requirements;
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Microsoft Project, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint);
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills;
Knowledge of basic accounting and mathematic skills;
Ability to succeed in a team environment;
Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and personal career development;
Experience with Yardi Construction or other construction management software preferred;
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred with the ability to read and communicate verbally and in written form in English.
Ability to sit most of the time using office equipment and computers but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 20 pounds.
Ability to climb stairs in an office building.
Pay: The position of Design and Construction Coordinator is compensated on an hourly basis, at a rate determined by management of MIMCO, commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications.
